GDPR Gap Analysis for Household Product Designer and Distributor

The client

A UK based company who designs, develops and distributes household and kitchen products under a number of own brands, plus a number of licensed brands around the world.

The work

Prior to the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a gap analysis was performed to identify areas of improvement in current policies and operating practices. This led to a prioritised remediation roadmap to ensure the organisation was in a “defensible position” prior to the GDPR being enforced.

How we helped

We undertook a review of the company’s policies, operating procedures, documentation, technology, training and awareness against the requirements of the GDPR and provided detailed feedback and a prioritised remediation roadmap outlining areas requiring improvement and indicative timescales. We also assessed historic marketing activities and procedures against the Privacy and Electronics Communications Regulations (PECR) to provide specific guidance on how the two pieces of legislation interact.

Value added

We provided the client with specific data protection and privacy knowledge, and support, to assist them in identifying and remediating areas of improvement in current operating practices.
