The client
The owner and manager of a property estate in central London that provides a mix of residential, retail and office space to tenants.
The work
We undertook a detailed gap analysis against the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to determine weaknesses in current client disciplines. To address the weaknesses and provide ongoing advice to supplement staff knowledge we provided a virtual Data Protection Officer service that gives the client access to experienced data protection specialist on an as needed basis.
How we helped
We developed a remediation plan and agreed a work programme to assist client staff implement revised policies and procedures, improve data governance processes, and provide on-going advice and guidance through regular on-site days and via a data protection helpline.
Value added
We provided the client with a cost effective solution to have access to, and use, data protection specialists on a demand basis instead of a full time employee. This allowed the focussed use of experienced consultants to undertake specific data protection tasks, as well as providing advice and guidance to deal with data protection queries that arise from normal business activities.
